St Marys Hotel 

The historic St Marys Hotel & Bistro, 
48 Main Street (corner of Story Street), has been owned and run by Tony and Bronwyn since 2018, providing high quality restaurant meals, accommodation and hospitality. 

Built in 1910 the hotel has a public bar/lounge - featuring a full sized state-of-the-art eight ball table, a restaurant, beer garden, bottle shop, and 15 guest rooms, including Twin, Double & Family, all using shared amenities.

The restaurant offers generously-sized meals made from fresh local ingredients, and an extensive wine list - two very convincing reasons to visit.

The hotel is open 7 days from 11.00am to late, dinner is served 7 nights, whilst lunch is normally served 7 days.
This may vary according to seasonal demand.

If you would like to have an enjoyable afternoon or evening, head to the St Marys Sports Centre, just a short 250m walk across the golf course from your camp site.

Set in picturesque bushland, St Marys Sports Centre encompasses the golf and bowling club and is licensed.
The centre is open limited hours, with the bar normally open on Thursday and Friday evenings, and Sunday afternoons - bookings (including catering) can be arranged for specific group activities.

There is a bowling rink for lawn bowls; for the golfers,  clubs can be hired.

The golf course has a unique layout as it has a horse track, a football- cricket oval and a lawn bowls green all being part of the course.

St Marys
The village of St Marys is just a ninety-minute easy, scenic drive from Launceston, situated in the Fingal Valley on Tasmania's stunning East Coast.

St Marys is close to beaches, waterfalls, golf courses, bike tracks, national parks and wineries. It is an ideal base point for exploring nearby St Helens and Bicheno, and is an easy day trip to Bay of Fires, Wineglass Bay and Freycinet National Park.

While you are in the region, plan a short day trip to the Douglas Apsley National Park. Enjoy a range of excellent bush walks, sweeping coastlines and towering waterfalls.

You can order pancakes at the famous Mt Elephant Pancake Barn nearby. Freycinet National Park and the Bay of Fires are also worth a visit for those who enjoy far-stretching pristine beaches, and maybe some hiking.

This short stay camping area is situated at 10–44 Harefield Road.

It is an easy 650 to 700 metre walk to the St Marys Hotel, depending on whether you walk along the road or take a short cut through the adjoining golf club.

The camp area not only adjoins the golf course, but also a football/cricket ground enclosed by a harness racing track.
This large 72 hour limit, donation campsite is suitable for all size and configuration of RVs, and tent camping.
It has 24/7 toilets, coin-operated showers,
potable water taps (not for hooking up to) and an onsite dump point.

It is pet on leash friendly.
Council rangers patrol the campsite to ensure both time limitation and pet compliance.
The Stables Handmade Markets is held at the recreation ground the first Saturday of the month.
