The Gunbower Family Hotel 10-20 Murray Valley Hwy. Situated on a bend in the Murray Valley Hwy, 40 kilometres north-west of Echuca, this unassuming hotel stands in the small Victorian town of Gunbower. Now owed and operated by farmer, butcher and publican, Richard McGillivray, the Gunbower Hotel represents a piece of history and a family tradition. The Gunbower Hotel opened in 1941, and was extensively renovated in 2022 The Hotel is well known for its superb aged, locally grown beef (most of which comes from Richards own property) and great traditional pub food. NEARBY CAMPING: While there is no camping at the pub there is camping at the Recreation Reserve approx. 750 mtrs away on Gunbower Island Rd Enter at football ground gate on right after small bridge; look for "The Jetty" signToilets , non potable water and pet friendly. there is no dump point but one is located just 9k up the road at Leitchville. This is a lovely camping area next to the creek. Unsure if costs involved Murals in the town by the talented Jimmy D'VATE places this town on the Silo Art Trail
