Centrally located in the town of Hughenden, the Great Western Hotel has an ideal situation for those traveling towards Alice Spring and Uluru from the North East coast of Australia as well as for those looking to explore and experience the Outback.
Hughenden is located between Charters Towers and Richmond, just 400km inland of Townsville.

Located a very short walk from the donation RV camp.
What a delightful and friendly town this is.
There is lots to see as you wander around town.
Drop into the Flinders Discovery Centre first (they even allow you to take your dogs in with you) to get a town map as well as some information on the town and surrounding area.
A blazed historical Coolabah tree stands proud between the RV Camp and the recently developed Water Sports Lake; it’s awesome with a walking track all the way around.
There are also BBQs and toilets strategically placed.
What a fantastic addition for the town.
All around town the streets are adorned with sculptures from local artists.
With every service on offer that you could want It’s easy to spend a week here.
A stop over here is a must"
