No camping at the hotels but the council provides a low-cost camp for self-contained RVs about two-minute walk away
If staying at one caravan park the Commercial Hotel runs a bus to van parks to hotel and back to your van park for a very small fee..

Good service from both hotels and both have a good selection of beers to choose from .
About 10 k out the road on Cowell Road is a monument that has been erected to commemorate the children's author May Gibb who wrote the Snugglepot and Cuddlepie books ,as her first Australian home was not far from this monument.
A beautiful little town that is very welcoming to the travelling public, everyone says hello in the street and the hotels and are on for a good old chin wag. .
Cowell is located 489 km north-west of Adelaide via Port Augusta and Whyalla. There is an impressive shortcut by taking the car ferry from Wallaroo to Lucky Bay which is 15 km east of Cowell. There is town water and a firepit area with covered seating. 14-day time limit Dump point in town although not at this RV camp
