Smythesdale

17kms south of Ballarat, is a small friendly town providing great facilities in a lovely location.

The camping area located at Smythesdale Public Gardens, is about 6-700 metres easy flat walk into town via the street or Skipton-Ballarat Rail Trail.

Secluded and shady setting 500m north of the highway and accessed via Gardens St

It is run by Smythesdale Progress Association and donations, no set amount, are requested if staying.

Donations can be left at the Post Office or Caltex Servo and envelopes are even provided too!

Max stay is 3 nights.

All instructions are on signs near amenities block to access the hot showers and toilets. Phone one of the Association members who will provide a door code. Please do not phone the hotel about camping

All campers are welcome: swags to big rigs and pets too.

There is a basic camp kitchen with fireplace and a pirate ship playground for the kids (young or old!).

There is a potable water tap/s near amenities, grey water is not required to be held. A dump point is located at Smythesdale Gardens Camping area.

Yes, the imposing Court House Hotel. The Court House Hotel is renowned for great food & coffee. Open 6 days a week (closed Tuesday)

Renowned for their excellent food and extensive menus, they can also cater for dietary restrictions.

Coffee and other teatime beverages are served too, along with delicious sugary treats

Some beautiful historic public buildings and homes in town and most shops for your needs; supermarket, butcher, chemist, secondhand/antiques, PO, cafe.
