LITCHFIELD OUTBACK RESORT
Litchfield National Park is a place where you can explore natural watering holes and springs, trekking through bushland and dipping in fresh spring water.
This review (below) by Diane Campbell - with thanks.
'Batchelor is the usual "gateway" to Litchfield National Park, my favourite.
The recently renovated Litchfield Outback Resort has added a camping area at the back
Heaps of room, flower beds between sites, and modern toilets and showers in a block which also includes the laundry. Nice and quiet, I loved it.
Easy access for all rigs, the amenities are open 24/7. https://litchfieldmotel.com.au/specials/camping-2/
From the front, it looks like.... a BP station. Which it is
(NB if you fill up they charge for Mastercard etc.)
But the bar/dining room (outside area has effective ceiling fans, excellent) is lovely, the menu looked good although I didn't go past the seafood.
Batchelor has a butterfly farm (breakfast/lunch/dinner/accommodation) a good visitors centre accessible all hours, a museum I didn't get to, a monthly market ditto, and the supermarket has most things including good maps of Litchfield. Just 40 minutes from Darwin and 20 minutes to the national park.'
Extensive renovations in 2022 have turned this into a showpiece
From the hotel website:
Is camping the way you like to travel?
Well the Litchfield Outback Resort also offers non-powered camping.
With a Cafe, Bar and Restaurant on site, laundry, toilet and shower facilities and free Wifi, this may be the type of camping you are looking for whilst exploring Litchfield National Park.
