This is a fair-dinkum Aussie pub

Constructed in 1889, the original building stands today as a working hotel under continual renovation comprising some 35 rooms in total.

Despite surviving some 5 serious fires the building is very much intact due to the extensive use of local hardwood timbers hand cut and laid in the original construction, as well as quick action by neighbours!

Nimmitabel is ideally located between the snow, the sea and the city (Canberra) being less than one and half hours drive from each.

They have recently installed a massive bell to attract tourism to the area.

The Lions Club was unable to source an appropriately sized bell in Australia, so the Nimmity Bell is an imported 95-year-old church bell from the US (see below)

The friendly village has a population of approx 300 No onsite camping.

NEARBY CAMPING:

There’s a reserve for camping just a short walk away in Boyd Street.

Moderate costs for a powered site.

You will be pretty comfortable here.
