Pussycat Flats
Pine Creek is located on the Kakadu Highway. 
This is a tiny mining township only one hour north of Katherine.

Camping is available at the racecourse, which is built  around the huge termite mounds that are scattered around the grounds.
There are good, grassy sites available.

Cheap rates & pet friendly too.  
Cost for camping powered and unpowered per vehicle.
Single & weekly rates also available. No cost for children to camp.

Toilets & showers, and a laundry for your convenience

Plenty of room for big rigs too.  There is a rough 9 hole golf course maintained around the outer & inner circumference of the track

Pine Creek is an old gold mining town.
There is a lot of history associated with the area and historical sites within easy one hour drive.

Scenic gorges are nearby for swimming and bushwalking and it is only a half hour drive to bottom end of Kakadu.

To find Pussy Cat Flats do NOT take the turn off to Pine Creek township. Keep driving and take the Kakadu Hwy turn off on the opposite side.

Drive for about 2 km, cross the railway tracks and you will soon see Pussy Cat Flats on your left.

While you are visiting Pine Creek you can explore the Northern Goldfields Loop, visit the National Trust Museum and Railway Station and for the train buffs there is the Steam Locomotive Museum.

Pine Creek holds the Gold Rush Festival annually in June, featuring the local gold-panning championships.

The Pine Creek Races are held annually in May at Pussy Cat Flats Racecourse.

Pine Creek is an ideal spot for birds watching, with the largest number of bird species in the Northern Territory – including the elusive Hooded Parrot.

There's plenty to keep you occupied when you are not playing golf, so take a drive and stay a while at this uniquely named location.
