The first weekend in October and New Year's Eve are: rodeo, horse sports, motorbike events, free children’s activities (e.g. jumping castle),  evening entertainment including a live band

The Tibooburra Hotel was built in 1882 during the gold rush and is the oldest surviving hotel in Tibooburra.

The Tibooburra Hotel is an elegant two-storey sandstone building on the corner of Briscoe and Wills Street.

It is the oldest of the two hotels left remaining in Tibooburra and was built of locally cut sandstone in 1882.

The sandstone was transported to town by horse and cart and then hand-cut and hand- chipped to form the beautiful stone structure which remains today.

Accommodation is available for non-campers

In a very happy and relaxed atmosphere, the publican Tracey and her family provide modern-day service in an old-world pub.

Specialists in catering to individuals just touring the outback, families or groups of mates, tag-along tours, 4WD groups, motorbike groups, pilots and aero-clubs.

The Family Hotel will welcome you with that great outback hospitality that is a welcome change from the rushed and impersonal ways of the ‘big-smoke.

Cold drinks, meals and accommodation is on offer and is the best way to soak up the outback spirit of the area.

Drop in and say G’day to Melissa and William... and the welcoming locals!

Constructed of locally quarried sandstone with a veranda along the front, the hotel has become famous as the outback pub with murals on the walls.

During the 1960s Australian artists Clifton Pugh, Russell Drysdale and others spent several weeks painting in the outback.

Using the Family Hotel as a base, and the outback as their inspiration, they added their own style of art to walls within the hotel.
