"Situated 18 km south of Ararat, on the Mortlake/ Ararat Rd.
The ‘CBD’ of Maroona has a population of 7 and 2 are regulars at the Pub!
Drinkers and diners travel from neighbouring farms and towns.
We were welcomed by the patrons and introduced around to all.
Gee we had a lot of laughs and learned a lot about farming, cropping, docking, mulesing, crutching etc.
Meals are available Thursday ( Parma night ) Friday and Saturday, otherwise open at 12.
Closed Sunday.
Margaret is owner, publican, chief cook and probably bottle washer.
She’s owned the hotel for 18 years.
Some of the local girls help out behind the bar when it’s busy.
Camping is available alongside at the Rec Reserve.

There are toilets there but no other facilities so you do need to be self contained."
