Great old pub limited van access but worth the effort.New young owner .well worth a stop over
Tiaro, Queensland. Small rural town on the Fraser Coast between Gympie and Maryborough.
First stop we checked out Tiaro Memorial Park then a cool soft drink with lots of ice at the dog friendly on the front footpath and beer garden down the back Royal Hotel Tiaro but decided to camp on the other higher side of town where there was a breeze across from The Hideaway Hotel.
There was everything we could want on a warmish Tuesday evening. Cold beers on tap, varied menu and prices offering traditional pub food [with a triangle of bread & butter] plus friendly staff. We sat on the dog friendly verandah but the original dining room is gorgeous and there’s a big shady paved beer garden with grassed area surrounds. Plus welcome access to the pub’s showers. Note, there is no access to pub toilets overnight.
The following morning we’d already had coffee but bookmarked the Retro Cafe for another time. However, we stocked the campervan fridge from Tiaro Meats and Bacon.
We’ll be back 👍
