Border Inn, Wallace Street, Apsley, Victoria
CAMPING ONSITE, Pets permitted at campsite, Showers available, Toilet access 24hrs
The small town of Apsley on Wimmera Highway in Victoria's south west with just 330 residents, was becoming a ghost town after the general store, service station and even the town's takeaway shop closed down in recent years.
It was the closure of the Border Inn in 2011, where many locals went for a meal and a beer after a hard day's work that hit the town hardest.
Derelict and dim for nearly three years, the lights of the 166-year-old pub are shining brightly once more, after being bought by a group of 23 local farming families. This beautiful Art Deco building is once again alive. EDIT April 2022 The pub has now been sold & is no longer in the community group's hands. Shane and Catherine are the new proud owners **Hotel opening hours - Only Friday afternoons at this stage, but watch this space**

The Inn is is the well deserved winner of the 2016 WIMMERA BUSINESS AWARDS . WINNER: "Food and Beverage". JUDGES COMMENDATION: "Best New Business"
There is free camp accommodation park and ample off street parking at the rear of the hotel. You can have a fire too.
Showers are available for a fee, and nearby toilets after the Inn closes
Enjoy the friendly, country hospitality whether it is at the bar or a leisurely pot of tea, coffee or a milkshake with house-made cakes and biscuits. There's a small shop for essentials.
Relax in the courtyard garden where there are tables and chairs.
The owners of the Border Inn make every effort for you to have a comfortable and enjoyable stay here.
This is a great example of what can be achieved by a dedicated community who do not want to see their town die.
Avail yourself of their hospitality and ensure the doors to this wonderful pub stay open for many years to come.
Stunning Lake Bringalbert is just a few kms up the road from this iconic hotel.
Another local attraction loved by both locals and visitors alike
Plenty of good reasons to visit Apsley soon.
