Wunghnu is a small rural town in Northern Victoria on Goulburn Highway, between Shepparton & Namurkah.

Aside from the tavern, the town has a bowls club, a church, tennis courts, ovals, a restaurant and a general store.

The tavern is a heritage listed building which was formerly the Wunghnu Mechanics Institute.
