A film called "The Shiralee" starring Peter Finch, was filmed around Binnaway in the 1950s.

Binnaway was also home to Frank Bourke’s famous White Rose Orchestra and the big Piano
It was a major  railway town and a large wheat receival area.

Now the population is just a few hundred citizens

NEARBY CAMPING

The nearby Pumphouse Campground was created to entice the visitor to the town. It is about 700 m to the hotel

It is an excellent,  free campground with as many comforts for the traveller as can be provided by the people of Binnaway

There are coin-operated hot showers in a clean, well maintained amenities block.

Eight powered sites if you require them, utilised meter
Lots of unpowered sites.
Drinking water taps
Dump point

Electric barbecues and covered seating has been provided too.

Drive to Binnaway, use it as a base to explore the Warrumbungles, then relax with a refreshing ale and perhaps a meal at The Exchange or The Bowlo afterwards.

All support for this township gratefully received
